Our mission is to

With some of His final words before ascending to Heaven, Jesus commissioned His church (including us) with these words: "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20). This is a multiplying mandate for disciples of Jesus. And as we multiply disciples of Jesus, we multiply God's glory (the brilliance of Who He is) on the earth.

Our Vision

If you've looked around our site, you may be asking “What's with all of the pottery analogies?” Our vision is tied to clay because the Bible has much to say about clay and there are numerous analogies between mankind and clay (see Gen. 1:1, 26-27; 2:7; Job 10:8-9; 33:6; Isa. 45:9-11; Jer. 18:1-6; John 9:5-7, 35-41; 2 Cor. 4:6-10). Our facilities reside on a rich basin of red clay, and that clay has been a source of much of the heritage that shapes our area. Brick-makers and race car drivers alike use this clay to shape their craft and shape our local culture.

So when we sought to find a way to summarize God's vision for our church and others who encounter us, we found a familiar and natural fit in the Bible's imagery of clay. Just as a potter finds raw materials and forms and fires those materials into new vessels so that they can be filled and flowing according to his design, we want to see God our Potter doing the same for all who interact with New Vision Fellowship. This has led us to the following vision:

We desire that through this fellowship Christ would cause multitudes to be:

Found

and invited to encounter God here.

Formed

into a new vessel by God's transforming power.

Fired

into a solid vessel, ready for God's use.

Filled

with truth and purpose for God's glory.

Flowing

God's riches into the lives of others.

a move from the COMMUNITY to the CROWD by gathering with us in worship

a move from the CROWD to the CHANGED by learning and applying God's Word

a move from the CHANGED to the COMMITTED by partnering with the church

a move from the COMMITTED to the COMMISSIONED by discovering and using spiritual gifts

a move from the COMMISSIONED to the CARRIERS by taking the gospel to the world

We multiply God's glory on the earth by multiplying magnifiers of His name

We multiply God's glory on the earth by multiplying models of His character

We multiply God's glory on the earth by multiplying members of His family

We multiply God's glory on the earth by multiplying ministers of His grace

We multiply God's glory on the earth by multiplying missionaries of His gospel

What We Believe

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and as the only basis for our beliefs.

“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from afar And My daughters from the ends of the earth, Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”
Isaiah 43:6-7

Our Pastor

Our Pastor, Jeremy Parker, is a native of nearby Pine Hall. He earned a Computer Science degree in 2003 from UNC and later a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2015. He has worked for many years as a software engineer and loves to investigate ways to enhance ministry with technology. He and his bride, Amy, were called to New Vision in 2017 after several years of volunteer work in the local church. God has blessed them with 3 children: Micah, Ellie Grace, and Caleb.

Pastor Jeremy has a passion for mining deep truths from the Scriptures and helping individual Christians of all ages and stages of life to grow in their walk with Christ. When he's not serving the church or serving his clients with their software needs, you'll typically find him enjoying time with his wife and kids.

Our Affiliations

As a church, we practice the distinctives of many Baptist churches:

  • Our membership is comprised of those who confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • We practice baptism as a one-time testimony which identifies every believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through immersion into water.
  • Our members exercise the right to vote, holding the final say in our most important decisions.
  • We see each person as entitled to personal religious convictions and accountable to God for those convictions.
  • We govern ourselves without any necessary allegiance to other earthly organizations.
  • So New Vision Fellowship is a Baptist church, but we are ultimately are under no authority other than our Triune God. We do voluntarily choose to partner with the following organizations in order to increase our effectiveness in carrying out Christ's mission for us:

    Pilot Mountain Baptist Association
    NC Baptist State Convention
    Southern Baptist Convention
